Who Are You Really?

In the last ieStory #25061, we talked a lot about SSI – these self-sovereign digital identities.
To some, it may have sounded like buzzword bingo.
So now the big question: What exactly is it?

Here’s the promised answer!

Imagine this …

You want to sign something.
A citizen initiative. Direct democracy, right?

But instead of a cardboard clipboard, you’re standing in front of a digital terminal.
And it doesn’t ask for your name, address, or date of birth –
it simply shows: ✅ Verified

No one needs to know you.
No government office needs to store you.
No middleman is selling your data.
Welcome to the world of SSI – Self-Sovereign Identity on Infinity-Economics.

In plain terms: Your identity belongs to you.

How Does It Work?

You get verified once – to prove that you are you.
That could be done by your local municipality, an association, a notary –
or, let’s say, an accredited entity within the IE ecosystem.

They issue you a Verifiable Credential
basically a digital stamp that says:

"Yes, this person is eligible to vote. Period."

You store that stamp yourself – in your ieWallet.
And when you want to sign something,
you don’t give out your personal data –
just proof that you're eligible.

No name. No address. No birthdate.
But: traceable, verifiable, tamper-proof.

So What’s the Point?

  • No one can steal your identity – because you never give it away.

  • No one can steal your vote – because each signature is unique.

  • No one can trick you – because you decide who sees what.

  • And when you sign an initiative, it’s recorded on the blockchain –
    tamper-proof and anonymous.

This is not science fiction.
This is possible – now.
And with Infinity-Economics, it's not just possible –
it’s realistic, because the infrastructure already exists.

Back to the Question: Who Are You Really?

In the old system, you are:
Name, Address, Birthdate.

In the new system, you are:
A verifiable identity with control over yourself.

SSI is the answer to a system that still relies on pencils and blind trust to manage democracy.

Conclusion

If you want your identity to truly belong to you –
You don’t need passwords.
You don’t need copies of your ID.

You need SSI – and a blockchain that can support it.

Like Infinity-Economics.
